It’s Stress Down Day – a fun and easy way to reduce your stress levels while raising awareness and funds for Lifeline Mid Coast.
Lifeline Mid Coast is encouraging businesses, groups and all members of the community to “Stress Down” for a day – have fun and at the same time raise funds for a very important cause.
Whether you want to wear your slippers all day, go to work in your pyjamas, or have a stress-free morning tea, you can take time out from your busy lives to have fun, stress less and feel better – the choices are endless, but the cause is important!
Lifeline receives 1250 telephone calls a day from Australians in need of support. Sadly up to 50 of these calls are from people at high risk of suicide. Lifeline provides an Online Crisis Support Chat that is available for people who prefer to seek help this way – one on one “live” chat with a trained crisis supporter.
Lifeline Mid Coast took 1141 calls independently last month, with the majority of the calls originating from our local area. Furthermore, the centre went beyond the call of duty answering an overflow of calls to Lifeline from all over Australia.
By taking part in Stress Down Day, you will help us to continue the service and answer more calls, provide more one-on-one chats and help us to continue to save lives in our local community.
Organise a stress down day at your work or school and spread the word that less stress is best.
Donations can be dropped off at the Port Macquarie Lifeline office, Sherwood Road, Port Macquarie or deposited into the Lifeline Mid Coast account.
