Mary Poppins flies to the rescue

Unfortunately Peter Cousens has had to cancel his role as Adjudicator for this year’s Port Macquarie Eisteddfod Music Theatre Section. Peter’s Management Team have advised that a project he has been working on in LA has now turned into a major project and as a result he has had to cancel all of his Australian commitments for the next few months.
Whilst being disappointed with this news we can happily advise that Peter’s place as Adjudicator will now be capably filled by this year’s Helpmann Award & Green Room Award winning Best Actress in a Musical – Verity Hunt-Ballard. Those of you who saw Mary Poppins would have been amazed by her incredible portrayal of Mary. Verity also starred in Jersey Boys, the Rocky Horror Show and heaps of other productions over the last 10 years. She is an amazing talent, a true tripple threat performer with a huge amount of skills and knowledge to impart. We are sure that eisteddfod competitors will love her.
Registrations are still currently open to the Music Eisteddfod which will run from 27th August to 2nd September. The eisteddfod represents an opportunity to budding musicians and aspiring performers to be judged by some of the best talents in the country. Our other adjudicators include:
Gabriella Pusner – an incredibly talented concert pianist and lecturer from both the Sydney Conservatorium and Newcastle University who will oversee our Pianoforte, Instrumental, Community Bands and Schools Day Sections.
Robert Bickerstaff – one of Australia’s most esteemed Vocal Coaches who will adjudicate our Classical Vocal, Contemporary Vocal and Community Choirs Sections
And the incredibly talented Darren Middleton – Lead Guitarist, backing vocalist and co-songwriter with the band Powderfinger will be judging our new Rock Bands Section and our Guitar Scholarship.
Don’t miss this amazing opportunity.
