Big bang theory for local education

Local students had some exciting science added to their lives when the Sydney University “Kickstart Physics” group visited MacKillop Senior College recently.
Over the two-day event, students and the public were treated to some experiments showing the impact of physics on our everyday life.
The group also highlighted key aspects of the HSC physics course as hands-on experiences for students of the college, and other schools, as far away as Armidale.
On Thursday evening, an open night was run to show potential HSC students the opportunities of the course and for studying physics as part of a university degree.
It is hoped that this will continue to be part of an ongoing program offered to this area to allow local students the same opportunities available to those living in Sydney.
MacKillop College would like to thank Tom Gordon and his team for providing this event to our local community.
