Tony Abbott, by his never ending opposition to the Carbon “Tax”, has talked his way into a corner from which he cannot extract himself.
Tony Windsor, during a House of Representatives debate, revealed to Australia that Tony Abbott had fully supported John Howard when he was moving to bring in a Carbon Pricing Scheme. The Member for New England did not hold back. He also related to the parliament how Mr Abbott had said to him and the other Independents, during the 2010 hung parliament situation, that he “would do anything” to get the top job and they (the three independents) fully understood that it included a promise to introduce a Carbon Price..
Tony Windsor said that Mr Abbott’s anti-Carbon “Tax” opposition, since Julia Gillard had become Prime Minister, was hypocritical and that he was a disgrace to the office of Leader of the Opposition.
It will be very embarrassing for Tony Abbott if those nightly TV images of him telling some small business owner how the Carbon Price is going to “send them broke” are continued.
I am sure that Australian voters are going to see the sudden disappearance of this Opposition propaganda.
