NBN mandate

The Article on 16/08/2012 MPs come to Loggerheads on broadband rollouts speed and cost. Where did David Gillespie get his figures 13 per cent of people voted for Labor at the last election? Might I inform him that, according to the AEC website Election Results updated 29/09/2010, The Australian Labor Party in 2010 Federal Elections outpolled all other parties in first past the post.
ALP 4,711,363 37.99 per cent of the vote.
Liberal 3,77,383 30.46 per cent of the vote.
The Nationals 462,387       3.73 per cent of the vote.
Two party preferred: The Australian Labor Party 50.12 per cent of the vote, Liberal/National Coalition 49.88 per cent of the vote.
Liberal and Nationals cannot win in their own right they have to form a coalition. The majority of the people voted for Labor and the NBN.
