The Final of the Winter Women’s Futsal competition played at St Paul’s was a great game, with many twists and turns.
The Invincibles were leading the competition all season, showing only two losses, with the Kick Flips having a later run at the finals position. The game began very evenly, with the Kick Flips opening the scoring via Georga Williams. The Invincibles did not panic and played their usual steady game and evened the score by half-time. 1 – 1. The young Kick Flips chased everything and put extended pressure in the goal area until they scored from a scuffle. The ball went from end to end for some 10 minutes until the Kick Flips scored again. Invincibles were awarded a free kick, only to miss.
Justyna, defending under pressure, scored an own goal. With five minutes to go, Invincibles scored, to creep a little closer, but time ran out for them.
