FOR 10 days each year for the past 11 years, Pacific Parade at Currumbin had been turned into a temporary art gallery as the Swell Sculpture Festival takes over the foreshore, and this year it’s on again.
More than 50 sculptures, by artists from around Queensland and NSW as well as several international arts, are set in the sand and parkland along the ocean front in what becomes a major tourist attraction.
More than 195,000 visitors checked out last year’s display and already crowds have been flocking to the foreshore to see what is on offer this year.
The event began last Friday and will be on display until this Sunday.
