The summer competition continued to attract strong fields. There were 69 players in Wednesday’s Stableford event. New Captain Glenys Cummings won the A Grade. Glenys scored 35 points. Jan Miller was the runner-up with 35. B Grade was won by Margo Prowse with 36 and Heather Atkins (35) was the runner up. In C Grade the winner was Ann Mackay who had 33, narrowly beating Edith Ross on 32.

The fine weather held for Friday’s game, with 51 ladies playing Stableford. In-form junior Lily Baker won Division 1 with a lovely 37, and Belinda Richardson was second on a countback, with 35. Lena Harty won Division 2 with 32 on a countback from Mat McKeown. There will be one final Stableford game in the summer competition on Wednesday 30 January before the season gets under way on Friday 1 February. Opening day is on Wednesday 6 February. There will be a shotgun start. A light lunch will be provided for players on opening day and everyone is asked to bring a small plate for afternoon tea.
