There were fifty players on the tee for a Fusion Food sponsored 4BBB Stableford on Wednesday 20th February but a small deluge at the half way mark saw some attrition!
Those that carried on dried out again and there were some surprisingly good scores recorded especially the 45 points scored by the winners, Lyn Kelly and Tracey Kirkman. Hot on their heels were runners up, Anne Portch and Lorraine Poulton with 44. The handicapper was waiting in the wings with breaks for Tracey Kirkman 37-36 and Lorraine Poulton 40-39. Balls went to teams with a score of 34 or better. Nearest the pin on the 4th was claimed by Lyn Hobson (Div 1) and Susan Grien (Div 3) and by Annie Cassidy (Div 1) and Giang Duong (Div 3) on the 18th. Most unusually Division Two failed to make a mark on either of those greens. The Novacastrian visit is scheduled for this week and on Wednesday 6th March we will play a Single Stableford. Don’t forget tickets are now available for the Back to Golf Cocktail Party at the Club on Friday 1st March.
The Friday 9 hole Tropical Fun Day was washed out last week of course, as was the Saturday Business Ladies event but results from Friday 15th February were as follows: winner Giang Duong 21 pts, runner up Barb Varcoe 18 c/b to ball winners Jan Grant 18, Sarah Wilcox and Jacki Bartlett, both with 15 points.
