Unit fire charge

A MAN appeared in court on Saturday charged with setting fire to a home in Lake Cathie.
Emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a unit in Boomerang Street, Lake Cathie, around 5.30pm on Thursday 11 April.
Fire and Rescue NSW personnel extinguished the blaze and police established a crime scene at the address.
No-one was home at the time and no-one was injured in the fire.
Following inquiries into the incident, police arrested a 28-year-old man at an address in Ocean Drive, Lake Cathie, at 9.35am on Saturday.
Officers took the man to Port Macquarie Police Station, where he was charged with damage property by fire and contravene apprehended violence order (AVO) before facing court.
