Co-op takes road trip

THE Hastings Co-op is going on a road trip.
The meet and greet started on Saturday, 27 April, with the new board of directors along with senior managers at the Hastings Farmers’ Market.
Co-op marketing manager, Tim Walker, said the planned events would be a great  opportunity to discuss future plans and ideas for the organisation.
“It  will also be a great opportunity to join up as a co-op member and to meet the senior managers and the board of directors,” he said.
“The co-op has been in operation since 1916, beginning as a butter factory  employing just eight people. Over the past 95 years, it has grown into a  major retail company employing 300 staff with 12 different businesses all falling under the one umbrella.
“We are one of the largest and most diverse companies in the region and we  are very proud to call ourselves a community co-op – locally owned and  operated.”
