Doing it for the kids

AN ANNUAL fund-raiser for the region’s hospitals is in full swing as Port Macquarie radio station 2MCFM ramps up its Give Me 5 For Kids appeal.
More than $240,000 has been raised for the Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Kempsey and Macksville hospitals since the appeal started in 2005.
The money is used to purchase vital medical equipment specifically to assist sick and injured children.
Appeal co-ordinator Nik James said the hospitals provided the station with a wishlist of items.
“That forms our target amount, which this year stands at $33,000,” he said.
There will be various activities and events held throughout this month, including a trivia night at the Port City Bowling Club on the 19th and a golf day at the Kew Country Club on the 21st.
