PORT Macquarie Players Theatre hosted the Festival of One Act Plays on the weekend.
Competing performers came from far and wide, including Queensland, Wyong, Lithgow, Stuarts Point, Taree and Buderim.
It was the third time the festival was hosted in Port Macquarie.
Organisers said it was going from strength to strength, in terms of both the number of participants and the quality of the performances.
Professional adjudicator Sean Hall said the performance quality was “sky high” and he was impressed with all the performances.
The winners were:
– Best Production: Hoosierdaddy (Excalibur Theatre Co),
– Best Male Actor: John Hincks – Countdown (Players Theatre),
– Best Female Actor: Eileen Kerr – Countdown (Players Theatre),
– Best Director: Kirsti Van Der Zeil Hoosierdaddy (Excalibur),
– Youth Encouragement: Time Based Ticket (Movement Theatre),
– Adjudicators Award: Anything But Barefoot Bowls (SAD Theatre),
– Best Ensemble: Ebbed (Stagemites),
– Best Unpublished Play: Hoosierdaddy (Excalibur) by Mark Lucas,
– Best Set: Why Can’t They Eat Flowers? (Xtract Drama Academy),
– Best Costumes: In The Tank (Wyong Drama Group).
