AFTER a sizzling opening half, Port City lost its first home game of the season in the Group 3 rugby league competition.
The Breakers took it right up to the second-placed Old Bar Beach Pirates early at Stuart Park, but got blown away in the second half to lose 46-22.
The visitors held a slight lead at the break, but no one could have anticipated what was to follow.
The sides returned from the dressing sheds as different outfits as the Pirates strolled away to win comfortably.
Captain-coach Josh Hyde was one of the few stand-outs for Port City, combining with his brother Ethan, Luke Sinclair and Tristam Morris to lead the way for the Breakers.
The Sharks are now fifth on the ladder, just two points clear of seventh and bottom side Wingham.
One position above Port City is Port Macquarie, after the Sharks came back from Taree with an impressive 56-28 win against the Bulls.
The Sharks led 14-10 at half-time, but the game opened up dramatically after the break, allowing for a number for second-half tries.
Sam Wara scored a hat-trick for Port Macquarie, while Ethan McKenna and Harley Gore crossed twice each.
Others two score were Dave Geary, Mikey Roberts and Oral Monaghan.
Monaghan kicked eight goals from 10 attempts.
Top placed Wauchope had a bye. The Blues take on the Sharks in a blockbuster clash at Regional Stadium on Saturday. Old Bar Beach hosts Wingham in what should be a win for the Pirates, while Forster Tuncurry Hawks take on Taree City.
