LIFELINE has thanked its Port Macquarie volunteers with a morning tea at Mykonos restaurant as part of National Volunteer Week.
“Volunteers are the reason we are able to continue saving lives through our service,” Lifeline Mid Coast spokesperson Lisa Willows said.
Lifeline answered 600,000 calls to 13 11 14 from May 2012 to April 2013 – a record for any 12 month period in the organisation’s 50-year history.
The biggest fund-raisers for Lifeline are its secondhand shops around the country.
Port Macquarie’s Lifeline shops are in need of good furniture donations.
You can donate your unwanted furniture items and have the comfort of knowing that your donation is helping to support Lifeline’s programs.
Free furniture pick up is available by phoning shop manager Troy on 6581 3644.
Proceeds of all goods sold through the shops are channeled back into the work of Lifeline.
To volunteer, call Helen at the Port Macquarie Lifeline shop on 6584 0200.
