AN off-duty police officer has been issued with a court attendance notice after allegedly failing to leave a licensed premises and assaulting security guards at a Port Macquarie nightclub.
It will be alleged about 11.45pm on Saturday, 6 April, the 23-year-old constable attached to the Central Metropolitan Region, refused to leave a licensed premises on William Street, Port Macquarie, when directed to by security guards.
The off-duty officer then allegedly assaulted a number of security guards as he was physically removed.
The constable was last week issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, three counts of common assault, and failing to leave licensed premises.
He is due to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Monday, 16 September.
