Insights into art

THE amazing works of Pam Tippett are on display for free at the Glasshouse, but there is an opportunity to budding artists to tap into her creative mind.

Tippett is holding a two-day painting and drawing workshop in Port Macquarie on 24 and 25 August, which will expose drawing techniques used to develop still-life artworks.
Participants will be guided by Tippett to improve their skills.
A major player in the Australian art scene, Tippett studied at Studio Simi in Florence, Italy, between 1977 and 1980. Her realist still-life paintings depict isolated domestic objects in staged interiors.
Tippett has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne, Sydney and internationally in Italy and France. She was awarded the Elizabeth Greenshields Study Grant in 1978 and the Coffs Harbour Eutick Memorial Still Life Award in 2010.
Her work is held by several major Australian regional galleries.
For more information about the workshop, or to make a booking, call the Glasshouse on 6581 8888.
