Choir’s song of Africa

MORE than 400 tickets have been sold as the African Children’s Choir prepares to perform at three concerts over the weekend.

Hosted by the St Joseph’s Primary School in Laurieton, the choir will perform at the North Haven Bowling and Recreation Club on Saturday night before backing up on Sunday at the Laurieton United Services Club.
The group of 18 children will sing again on Monday night at the school in a what will be an intimate workshop with students.
The tour was made possible by Luke Warden, who is the operations manager of the North Haven club.
Mr Warden made a trip to Uganda two years ago and was impressed by the good deeds of the African Children’s Choir.
“They’ve been travelling the world for almost 30 years, but this is their first trip to Australia,” he said.
The choir has already performed in Melbourne and after leaving Laurieton they will head to Queensland before heading home via Japan.
“It’s going to be a great experience,” Mr Warden said.
“We’ve already sold more than 400 tickets to the three concerts combined, so they are selling pretty fast.”
