SOME members of the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie will shortly be crowing their way to the bank – or so they hope.
The Roosters won the NRL grand final on Sunday and a jersey signed by the Roosters first-grade team will be one of the star auction lots at the Great Gatsby fund-raising dinner on 25 October.
“The grand final win is sure to have increased the value of the jersey, or that is the hope and the expectation of the committee,” committee member Sheila Openshaw said.
Also for auction on the night will be a Leanne Prussing painting and a poster signed by film producer Baz Luhrmann, whose mother, Barbara Martin, a Sydney dance teacher, will attend the dinner to present the poster.
All profits from the dinner will go to Australian Rotary Health for research into mental health conditions.
