Paddlers set to have a dip

Dozens of people attended the last on-water paddle day, receiving expert advice on choosing the best kayak or paddle board for their needs.

IF you have always wanted to try a kayak or a stand-up paddle board, now is your chance.
The Skee Kayak Centre is staging an on-water paddle weekend on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December, from 9am to 1pm, at Lions Park in Ferry Street, Macksville.
There will be more than 40 different kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, covering 10 different brands, available for people to test paddle in supervised river conditions.
The collection includes Australis Kayaks, Viking Kayaks, Wilderness Systems, Perception Kayaks, Native Watercraft, Feel Free, Ocean River, Azul Kayaks,
Sun Dolphin canoes and kayaks and C4 Waterman and Gulliver stand-up paddle boards.
Fantastic specials and packages deals will be available for those who purchase on the weekends, with most kayaks available for pre-Christmas delivery if orders are placed on the weekend.
Expert advice will be available from Skee Kayak Centre staff and representatives from some of the brands will also be on hand to speak to about their products.
“The day is to give people a chance to try before they commit to buying,” a spokesperson for the Skee Kayak Centre said.
“Each kayak has its own characteristics, and each paddler is looking for something different.”
Trials are by appointment only, so book early if you want to to reserve a time.
