ACTOR Samuel Johnson has ridden away from Port Macquarie with a cheque for $6300 to boost the coffers of the Love Your Sister appeal.
The community turned out en masse to support a fund-raising day at Bendigo Bank in Port Macquarie last week and other events organised by bank staff and supporters, including a raffle with 58 prizes.
One of the highlights was when Shari Knox from Subway had her head shaved, raising $1224 through sponsorship.
Two Bendigo staff also coloured their hair pink in a dare set by customers.
Samuel is riding around Australia on a unicycle to raise $1m for breast cancer research.
The challenge is a promise he made to his sister Connie, who is dying of breast cancer. While he has made many appearances on TV, he is best known for his role in the Australian series The Secret Life of Us.
