THOUSANDS of Port Macquarie residents turned out for Carols in the Park on Saturday evening.
Pastor Todd Murray of the Grace Church, one of the churches involved in the Westport Park event, said he loved the way the event brought families and the community together.
“I have had such wonderful feedback for what was possibly one of the largest carols events to date,” he said.
“We are thinking there must have been around 4000 people and are looking forward to an even bigger event in 2014.
“A huge thank you must go to Allison Langdon, our MC for the night, and Matt Doeland and mayor Peter Besseling who led carols, with everyone of all ages able to join in and sing along.
“Thanks to all our sponsors. May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a merry Christmas to all and ask everyone to give a thought to Jesus this year, the real meaning for Christmas.”
