Idol rocks out

FORMER Australian Idol winner Damien Leith rocked The Pier at Panthers on Friday night, playing to a small but extremely enthusiastic audience.
Damien played many old favourites which won him fame – such as Hallelujah and Crying – but also some new songs from his latest album, Chapter Seven.
His support act, Canadian singer-guitarist Andy Brown, also received a warm reception from the crowd, despite many of his own songs having a sad theme such as lost love.
Between them the two kept the crowd entertained from just after 8pm until 10.45pm.
“He was totally amazing – I am so glad I made the effort to come out and see Damien. He is even better in the flesh than on the television,” one fan told the Independent afterwards.
