It’s carols, of course

Monique Bailey, 5, and her mother Charmaine are pictured enjoying another Port Macquarie carols event – Carols under the stars, which was held at the Westport Club last Thursday.

THIS Saturday, the C3 Church in Port Macquarie will be presenting the annual family Christmas Carols at the Racecourse.
The entertainment includes the always popular kindi animal petting farm, plus food and market stalls, sausage sizzle, coffee stand, lucky door prize, jumping castle, and this year for the first time, a professional photographer will take photos with Santa.
Last year’s special guests, the Clanceys, are back to entertain the little ones with music and song. And let’s not forget the festive atmosphere of singing carols against the beautiful backdrop of the Port Macquarie racecourse. Gates open at 5pm with the carols kicking off at 6.30pm.
Last year the event attracted about 600 people and this year it promises to be even bigger and better.
All proceeds from the night will be donated to Port Macquarie’s Reap Food Rescue, a charity that rescues food from retailers and supermarkets that would have gone to landfill and donates it to charitable organisations like soup kitchens and breakfast clubs. In the two years since it began, Reap Port Macquarie has rescued nearly six tonnes of food, helped to create almost 20,000 meals and saved local charities close to $100,000.
Reap organiser Katrina Humble said the money raised at the carols would be gratefully received.
“It means that we can continue the good work we have started in the Port Macquarie Hastings area,” she said.
“The money will go towards advertising for more food donors and ensuring that the Reap van is maintained so we can continue picking up and dropping off the valuable food.”
The carols are sponsored by Iron and Clay Photography and PortHub.com.au
Bring the whole family for a fun-filled night of entertainment and celebration.
