PORT Macquarie Hastings residents have been invited to make it an extra-special Australia Day experience this year by attending the Saltwater Freshwater Festival in Kempsey.
The festival extends an open invitation for everyone to come together to connect and share music, dance, food, crafts, workshops, stories and kids’ activities as part of a unique and extraordinary event which celebrates the world’s oldest surviving culture – Australian Aboriginal culture.
This family-friendly festival has previously been held in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Taree and has proved to be an extremely popular free day out for the whole community, with thousands of people enjoying its special atmosphere.
Star acts include country music icon Troy Cassar-Daley. As Troy’s only 2014 performance on the Mid North Coast, this is a golden opportunity to enjoy this charismatic performer.
The festival main stage will also present other nationally acclaimed artists Pirra (featuring Jess Beck) and Supafresh, as well as local favourites Amos Morris and Sages Muse.
The festival is an alcohol and smoke free event and will be held at Kempsey Showground from 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday 26 January.
