TWO talented singers-cum-musicians will be performing at the Port Macquarie Hotel on 30 January.
Joel Sulman and Michael Gorham have teamed up for a national tour, culminating in the Deniliquin Blues and Roots Festival in April this year.
Bred in the centre of culture-driven Byron Bay, Joel Sulman learnt about Blues and Roots before he was able to drop the training wheels off his pushbike.
Coming from a musical upbringing, Joel’s whole life was surrounded by the stories of both the well-known and unknown musicians of the world.
Now living in Albury NSW with his family, he has been attempting to bring the northern culture south with his smoky blues voice, eclectic guitar work and cheeky percussion with much success.
Although a newcomer to the scene, in the last 12 months Joel has been seen supporting the likes of The Whitlams, Allensworth, Shaun Kirk, Diesel, Claude Hay and many more.
His style of blues has been described as “as accessible as it is bona-fide”.
In contrast, Michael Gorham encompasses all aspects of performing, by creating visions through lyrically haunting ballads infused with his euphoric guitar stylings.
Michael has achieved many career milestones and has an impressive list of accolades to his name, including being a finalist in the ACMF and ASA song-writing competitions, the 20th Anniversary of Youth Rock, and has graduated from the prestigious Talent Development Project at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
Michael was also one of 11 soloists chosen to perform at Encore held annually at the Sydney Opera House.
While having appeared on WIN Television’s 60 Minutes and The Kerri- Anne Kennerley Show, his music has also reached audiences through independent radio stations, various magazines and Channel Ten’s Landed.
The Port Macquarie gig is free to attend and kicks off at 8pm. For more information www.portmacquariehotel.com.au
