LOCAL community orchestra Sinfonia Mid North Coast will be back again performing their magic at the Glasshouse to coincide with the start of Seniors Week next month.
Sinfonia president Anne-Marie Barnett said she expected keen demand for tickets because their concert last year was a sell-out and the feedback had been excellent.
“The mix of music is programmed to appeal to a range of musical tastes and the regular followers of Sinfonia will also appreciate the once a year heavily discounted ticket price,” Ms Barnett said.
“Come and enjoy an afternoon with talented local volunteer musicians whose ages range from teens to seniors. The youngest at 15 is one of the recipients of a Sinfonia scholarship while the eldest at 90 is fast approaching 91 years of age.
“The range of music selected includes popular music from favourite classical works, familiar show melodies and some boppy jazz through to instrumental solos and songs.”
“If you haven’t heard a Sinfonia concert before then thanks to a Seniors Week grant from the NSW Deptartment of Family and Community Services, here is your once-a-year opportunity to buy your ticket at a very much reduced price.
“This is a fun afternoon of music specially programmed to celebrate the opening of Seniors Week. Bring your family, friends, neighbours and grandchildren for a fun, musical afternoon.”
The concert is being staged on Sunday 16 March, from 2pm. Advance tickets through the Glasshouse are only $8 – early booking is advised.
