Where to now, brown cow

THE Wauchope Show Society is on the hunt for a brown cow.
No, they haven’t lost their marbles, they’ve lost their mascot – a fibreglass full-sized jersey cow called Sarah, has been taken from the hall at the showgrounds.
Show society president Bob Kennett discovered Sarah missing last week and reported it to Port Macquarie Police.
“Sarah was there a couple of months ago, but then when I went to pick it up it to take it out to promote the show it was missing,” Mr Kennett said.
“My heart just sank. She’s always there. Part of the show.”
Mr Kennett said that there was no sign of a break-in at the hall, but it was used frequently so it was possible someone had stolen her while the hall was open for a meeting.
Luckily, one of the show directors had another fibreglass cow similar to Sarah that the society had been able to borrow, and that was now on display at the Hastings Co-op IGA in Port Macquarie to promote the show, which is on the Anzac Day weekend in April.
However, Mr Kennett said they would really love to have the real Sarah back, and asked that anyone who knew of her whereabouts to contact him or police. They could also just drop her back outside the hall – no questions asked.
The Hastings Co-Op is offering a $100 voucher for information leading to her return. Mr Kennett can be contacted on 0427 911 487.
