NSW Heritage Week kicked off on Sunday with a Poets Breakfast and official launch at Kendall.
While some events have already been held, many more are still to come over the Easter long weekend and beyond, including an open day at the Douglas Vale Historic Homestead and Vineyard in Port Macquarie on Saturday 19 April from 9am to 2.30pm.
Members of the Queensland Vintage Car Club and Alvis Car Club of NSW organised a joint tour in company around the Hastings to co-incide with the week.
Their stunning vehicles were one of the major attractions at the launch in Kendall, and members also enjoyed a leisurely tour of local attractions, including the museum and maritime museum in Port Macquarie, the Lake Innes ruins and a sunset cruise on the river.
Along the way they also stopped in for lunch and a tour of the Douglas Value Historic Homestead in Port Macquarie, where they seized the opportunity to pick up a few bottles of wine and port for happy hour and after-dinner drinks later in the day.
Details of more Heritage Week events are included in the Gig Guide on page 16. A full listing is also at www.pmhc.nsw.gov.au.
