Hope at work to break bonds of slavery

THE Hope Shop – an arm of the Honour Church – is supporting a campaign to abolish injustice by holding several local fund-raising events over the Mother’s Day weekend.
Funds raised will go to the international A21 campaign.
A spokesperson for the Hope Shop said there were more slaves in the world today than at any other point in human history, with an estimated 27 million in bondage across the globe.
On Friday 9 May there is a breakfast at Rydges from 6.45am. The cost is $30 a person. Bookings are essential.
On Saturday 10 May at 2pm there is an afternoon tea in the grounds of the St Thomas church.
On Mother’s Day, Sunday 11 May, at 10am in the auditorium of the Honour Church, there will be a morning tea.
Three young local women from the A21 organsation will be special guests at all events.
