1st-grade Arthur Hollis Player of the Year Chris Cole with cricket legend Doug Walters.

CHRIS Cole from the Port City Leagues Magpies was announced as the Arthur Hollis first-grade Hastings Cricket Player of the Year for the second successive year during the annual presentation night at the Westport Club.
The award was presented to him by Australian Cricket Legend Doug Walters, who was a special guest at the event. Cole was also named the first XI representative Player of the Year.
Other major first -grade prize winners on the night included Wauchope’s Jason Blythe with a bowling average of 7.76 while the award for most wickets was shared by Brendan Badenoch (Macquarie) and Anoop Gopalakrishnan (Comboyne) with 30 wickets each.
In batting, Blake Larance from Wauchope finished with the most runs (403) and best average of 36.6. the Rookie of the Year went to Daniel Morrison of Wauchope and the Spirit of Cricket Award to Simon Granfield (Port Pirates).
The second-grade Player of the Year was Camden Haven’s Peter Morris, who also picked up the bowling awards and the over-35s representative Player of the Year for the Oxley Thunder.
Luke Rogers from the Pirates was named the third-grade Player of the Year and Port City’s Ian Dickson took out the fourth-grade title.
