MORE than 250 gathered to celebrate Easter on the Beach on Sunday in the best weather Port Macquarie can provide.
Locals and visitors gathered at the Breakwall Skate Park in Port Macquarie to enjoy a concert and share Easter eggs, hot-cross buns and a sausage sizzle – all free.
Sponsored by Port City Church, the event followed the church’s annual Christmas on the Beach, which attracted more than 400 people on Christmas day.
Elvis tribute artist Mark Borg and singing wife Gina returned again this year to entertain the crowd with old Elvis songs and games for the kids.
Pastor Phil Brown reminded everyone that the real meaning of Easter Sunday is to remind us of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, an event recorded both in the Bible and by historians
He said the immense significance of the resurrection of our saviour is why Easter Sunday is cause for celebration and why Port City Church funds this free event.
