THE Newport Charity Group and the Cedro Cafe in Port Macquarie are among the latest groups and businesses to announce Biggest Morning Tea events to raise funds for the Cancer Council on Thursday 22 May. The Newport Charity Group, comprising residents of the Newport retirement village, will stage a morning tea, and Cedro will donate 10 per cent of its takings for the entire day, plus have a donation tin at the cafe all this month. The Biggest Morning Tea has raised more than $110 million since Aussies first put the kettle on in 1994. Thursday is the offiical ‘day’, but hosts can put on an event any time during May and June.
