Standing for Greens

Drusi Megget is the new Greens candidate.

PORT Macquarie Greens have announced their candidate for the upcoming state election.
Drusi Megget is a resident of Port Macquarie and has lived on the Mid North Coast since 1994.
“I joined The Three Rivers Greens branch back in 2000,” Ms Megget said.
“What attracted me to the Greens was their passion for the environment, and their policies for taking real action to combat climate change.
“I was also attracted to the strong Greens’ policies on social justice issues. They are the only party that stands for humane treatment of refugees.
“These are just some of my reasons for becoming actively Green.”
Ms Megget works as a part-time TAFE teacher. Her field is Information Technology in the Education Employment and Support section.
“As the proud mother of two daughters, currently studying at university, I am also in touch with working families.
“I feel that the strong community participation is one of our greatest assets. Like may people in my community, I am a great joiner of organisations. I am a member of Friends of the ABC, Climate Change Australia and the P&C.”
Ms Megget reiterated her passion in protecting the environment, in social justice and equity, and the need to push for pro-active action at all government levels.
“Like everyone, I want my children to have the opportunity to enjoy a good, safe and fulfilling future. And that entails a future that is sustainable for all life on earth.”
