THE next state budget may be seven months away but Nationals Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams has already been meeting with state ministers to discuss priorities for the electorate.
“While there are many projects in our electorate that need funding, I understand the challenges facing all levels of government as they try and live within their means but at the same time reduce debt,” Mrs Williams said.
“I have used the past few weeks to ensure ministers were cognisant of the issues that were important for our community.
“I presented to relevant ministers a document outlining funding priorities as well as to the premier, deputy premier and treasurer.
“I know the state budget is still months away, but it is important to put the case for funding to ministers well before the budget process commences.
“Ministers have the difficult task of balancing the needs of all electorates but in doing so it is critical that they have a clear understanding of what’s important to local communities.”
