THE Flamin’ Dragons women’s dragonboat team excelled at the recent regatta hosted by Great Lakes Pearl Dragons.
Flamin’ Dragons teams were a women’s, mixed and a composite team consisting of paddlers from Flamin’ Dragons and South West Rocks Dragons and a men’s boat of 10 male paddlers from Flamin’ Dragons and Camden Haven Dragons.
All teams did well, but the women put in the extra effort needed to take out first place against a strong Kempsey crew.
All paddlers had a great day of racing and there were a few paddlers from Flamin’ Dragons attending their first regatta and winning their first dragonboat trophy.
The dragonboat clubs are now training for the next regatta which in Kempsey this weekend.
Flamin’ Dragons would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to business houses and the community for their support throughout this past year and wish them all a Merry Christmas.
