Fine time for parking

DRIVERS caught parking illegally near the Seddon railway station may face a hefty fine as part of a police crackdown.
Following complaints from residents, Footscray police are appealing for public support to help stop illegal parking on the corner Pentland Parade and Railway Place in Seddon.
Police said the area near the station was being used for illegal parking rather than a walkway for pedestrians.
Residents have told police they are fed up with what has become a pedestrian hazard with vehicles mounting the footpath and digging their tyres into the grass.
Police said any drivers caught parking on the footpath or destroying Maribyrnong City Council property could face a hefty fine.
Concerned residents should contact the traffic management office in Footscray on 8398 9844.
