ABOUT 20 Hastings micro businesses learnt the five secrets for a successful business at the recent Micro Business Forum (MBF) bi-monthly meeting at the Town Green Inn, according to Graeme Lawlor, owner and head trainer, Every Body Personal Training.
Ms Pix Jonasson, MBF media/marketing co-ordinator and owner of Success Dynamics Group said” “Graeme inspired attendees with his own story of what has worked for his business, growing it in hard economic times with tough competition.
“Graeme’s five tips for success include: be passionate, maintain professionalism, have a mentor/business coach, move with the times and add multiple income streams.”
Ms Jonasson said: “Graeme also explained how he started with a personal training studio in a converted garage and has now grown to a much larger operation with four employees, doing over 160 personal training sessions per week along with a class membership base of over 60.”
“It was great to hear about a successful local case study, with Graeme involving the members and guests in a fun interactive session at the start.”
“Graeme has qualifications in working with older adult and youth populations, along with Australian boot camp training.”
Ms Jonasson said: “He has come from a strong sporting background, having played professional and semi-professional rugby league. Placing second in an Australian body building championship and more recently fighting professionally in mixed martial arts, Graeme is a fully qualified master fitness trainer and has worked in the fitness industry for eight years.”
“Prior to Graeme’s motivational presentation, the AGM was undertaken with Barbara Smith, owner of The Rover Trainer, being elected MBF President, taking over the reigns from Col Imer, owner of Sensible Sales SOULutions who has been an outstanding president for the past two years.”
“The MBF is a very supportive and interactive forum, where businesses can discuss immediate issues and concerns relating to business; team up with alliance partners; provide and receive referrals; access professional development targeted specifically for home and micro sized businesses; find support and advice from businesses owners with similar challenges; and access industry experts and specialists.”
All micro businesses in the region are invited to attend the next meeting, on Friday, July 19, at Town Green Inn. For further information, phone Barbara Smith on 0410 420 799 or go to www.MicroBusinessForum.org.au
