Lions lay foundations

THE Port Macquarie Lions Club has completed the next stage of the shelters for patients and visitors at the Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
Patients and visitors will eventually be able to communicate with the  driver of an E-car shuttle service  to save them walking from the far reaches of the car park up to the  hospital buildings.
In conjunction with the Port Macquarie Base Hospital Pink Ladies Branch, the Port Macquarie Lions Club is keen to see this project  finished as soon as possible.
Last week Lions members installed the  concrete pads where the shelters will be erected.
Lion David Sherrard  and his crew spent most of the day preparing the concrete pads. The  Lions Club wishes to thank Greg at  Holcim for donating the concrete mix, Roger and Carol at Dorvik, The Steel Centre  for donating the steel weldmesh and Kennards Hire for donating the hire  of essential equipment.  These Port Macquarie businesses are typical of  groups willing to help the community.
