A teenage boy has been seriously injured after being hit by a car at Port Macquarie on Sunday afternoon.
About 1:20pm on April 29 a white Mercedes C180 was travelling east on Gordon Street when it was involved in a collision with a 16-year-old boy.
Police have been told the boy was running across the road when he was hit by the car and thrown onto the bonnet, smashing the windscreen.
Police and paramedics attended the scene and the teenager was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for treatment.
He was later airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital suffering from a fractured skull and broken leg, where he remained in a serious but stable condition on Monday.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 56-year-old woman, was not injured during the collision and returned a negative breath test.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are continuing.
