Woodlands Bridge on the North Shore, east of Telegraph Point, is now a funding priority for 2012/13.
At last week’s Council meeting, the bridge was listed for replacement in the next financial year. In the interim, intervention works will be carried out on the structure and a load limit of three tonne will be imposed.
Council has replaced or renewed 45 of the 83 timber bridges on its asset registry since 1995. The total replacement value of all bridges is more than $15.7 million.
Following extensive condition assessments, the following bridges have been identified for replacement between now and 2016 — Saltwater Creek, Stoney Creek, Woodlands Bridge and Hyndmans Creek.
