A man has been arrested and charged moments before he was allegedly about to rob a bank at Coffs Harbour.
About 9.15am on Wednesday, October 26, police received reports about a man acting suspiciously outside a bank on Harbour Drive.
Officers attended the scene where they allegedly saw a man seated in a white Holden utility and wearing a balaclava.
Police approached the vehicle where the man allegedly removed the balaclava.
He was spoken to and submitted to a search, where he was found in possession of gloves while a large knife was found inside his vehicle.
The 48-year-old man was arrested and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was interviewed by police.
The man was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence and custody of a knife in a public place.
He was refused bail to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court.
