Police have charged a third man following the murder of an elderly man at West Kempsey two years ago.
About 6pm on Saturday, November 20, 2010, 75-year-old Stanley Davies was found by his sister at his house in Dangar Street, West Kempsey.
Stanley was found unconscious in a bedroom suffering serious head and facial injuries. He was taken to Kempsey Hospital and later transferred to the John Hunter Hospital.
Six days later on Friday, November 26, Mr Davies died in hospital.
Detectives from Mid-North Coast Local Area Command commenced investigations into the assault and subsequent death of Mr Davies and confirmed his house had been ransacked and an amount of property stolen.
On December 8, 2010, a 27-year-old man was arrested at a house in Pipers Creek Road, Dondingalong. He was charged with murder and is due to appear in Sydney Supreme Court on Friday July 6.
Last Wednesday, June 27, a 25-year-old man was conveyed to Kempsey Police Station where he was arrested and charged with aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence, steal motor vehicle and murder.
He was bail refused and remanded in custody to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on Thursday, August 9.
About 9.50am on Monday, July 2, police arrested a 20-year-old man in Tamworth.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with murder and refused bail to appear in Tamworth Local Court.
