Police have arrested and charged two men with break and enter and goods in custody offences following investigations into a series of armed robberies on the Mid North Coast and North Coast this year.
Strike Force Mehi is comprised of detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad and the Mid North Coast and Coffs/Clarence local area commands.
During the course of their investigations into numerous armed robberies, detectives also uncovered information relating to a number of break and enters and other offences.
About 11.45am on Tuesday, August 28, police arrested a 23-year-old man at his home at Hyland Park.
He was taken to Macksville Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter with intent (in company). He was refused bail to face Kempsey Local Court today.
Then, at 12pm, detectives arrested a 30-year-old man when he attended Macksville Police Station.
He was charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime and two counts of deal with property suspected proceeds of crime. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Macksville Local Court on 12 September 2012.
Investigations by Strike Force Mehi into numerous robberies are continuing, including a robbery at a club in Urunga on June 17. During that incident, one man was assaulted and required hospital treatment for his injuries.
