The engagement of over 2000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through meaningful conversations, high energy performances and workshops on career pathways were on offer at the 4th Annual Deadly Days Festival held in Coffs Harbour last week.
A number students from Port Macquarie high schools, including St Joseph’s Regional College, St Paul’s, Newman Technical College and Port High attended.
A diverse range of high profile, up-and-coming and cultural performers entertained the youth while delivering the key messages of staying in school, options for post school study, and to live a healthy lifestyle.
Festival organisers, North Coast TAFE, have moved away from the past format of market stalls to workshops, with indigenous role models. Further information can be found on www.deadlydays.com.au
