Auto One V8 Ute Series driver Andrew ‘Fishtail’ Fisher will speak to several hundred local high school students as he visits three Port Macquarie high schools next week.
Andrew drives the ‘Jesus Ute’ in the V8 Ute series.
Fishtail will speak about his experiences driving a racing car in the Auto One V8 Ute Series as well as racing in the main game enduros at speeds of up to 300km/h, with ‘Jesus’ plastered down the sides of his car.
Andrew won the Rookie of the Year in the Auto One V8 Ute Series and took the chequered flag for the first race of the 2012 season.
In addition to his work on the racetrack, Andrew heads an extensive speaking program at high schools and events across Australia. This program sees Andrew talk to more than 30,000 people every year about making positive life choices.
“We encourage young people to think through the consequences of their actions,” says Andrew, “and to be courageous, so they are not afraid to step out of the crowd and do what they know is right.
“Our presentation at these schools draws on our experiences on the race track and applies them to our everyday lives.”
Andrew will drive his replica race car to each school so the students and teachers can experience the sights and sounds of a V8 Racing Ute.
Andrew will visit the following schools:-
nWestport High School – Wednesday, June 6, 11am- 1pm
nWauchope High School – Thursday, June 7, 12-1pm
nCamden Haven High School Laurieton – Friday, June 8, 11.30-2pm
