Friday deadline for local foreshore submissions

Friday is the cut-off for local residents to make a submission on the draft Plan of Management for Westport Park.
The draft Plan of Management is currently on public exhibition.
Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams said, “This is the last opportunity for people to provide feedback and comment on the draft Plan which ensures this foreshore asset remains as public open space.
“To date there have been a number of submissions received, but I encourage other interested people to provide their thoughts on the draft Plan.
“The draft Plan of Management identifies key community objectives for the future management of Westport Park as open space,” Mrs Williams said.
“A lot of hard work has gone into the draft Plan and it is imperative that our local community takes up the opportunity of providing feedback to Crown Lands on key aspects of the draft Plan.
“Through this State Government, Westport Park now has the highest form of protection against development, but now is the time for those people who are interested in the future of this part of our Port Macquarie foreshore to have their voice heard,” Mrs Williams said.
The draft Plan of Management is available online at www.crownlands.nsw.gov.au.
Submissions close on Friday, March 9.
