Two people have been injured in a serious collision at Bybarra on Friday night.
About 6.20pm a Hyundai Lantra collided with a small trailer being towed by a Ford Falcon utility on the Oxley Highway, Byabarra.
The Hyundai then left the road and crashed into a tree.
Officers from Mid-North Coast Local Area Command and other emergency services attended the scene.
The 50-year-old male driver of the Hyundai was taken by Westpac Helicopter to John Hunter Hospital with serious internal injuries. His 20-year-old son was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital with arm fractures. The two occupants of the Ford were uninjured.
The Oxley Highway was closed, with local diversions in place for a number of hours, while the incident was investigated.
