Mum, daughter under clippers for a cause

A mother and daughter in Port Macquarie are braving it all and going under the clippers for this year’s World’s Greatest Shave.
Bank of Queensland Port Macquarie Customer Service Manager Linda Dewbery will be sitting alongside her 12-year-old daughter, Caitlin, on March 11 when Linda will be shaving her head and Caitlin will be cutting off her long blonde locks to help raise money and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation.
“We are both really passionate about the Leukaemia Foundation and believe that sacrificing our vanity to show our support for those less fortunate than us is a really powerful gesture,” said Linda.
“We are 100 per cent behind the World’s Greatest Shave and the Foundation’s attempts to raise as much money as possible and find a cure for this disease once and for all.
“Obviously we want to raise money, as well as awareness, and so far we’re just over the $500 mark, so we’re asking any customers, or compassionate locals, to dig deep.
“We’ll be auctioning off the first shave of my head, and are also asking business customers for goods or services that we can also raffle off to raise money.
“If anyone is interested in getting behind us, we’d love them to give us a call at the branch or drop in and see us.”
