THE Rotary Club of Port Macquarie is set to charter an Interact Club for young people aged 12 to 18 years old.
The club is inviting young people to come along to the Youth Hub on Wednesday 17 July at 4pm to find out all about the new Interact Club of Port Macquarie.
Interactors bring new energy to a Rotary club, inspiring fresh ideas and increasing support for an array of projects.
Interact clubs are self-supporting as they elect their own president and board of directors from within and decide on what type of fund-raising activities they want to hold and how to run them.
Each year the clubs complete at least two community service projects, one of which increases international understanding and goodwill.
Through these efforts Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of leadership, respect, responsibility and hard work.
As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 10,700 clubs in 109 countries and geographical areas, Interact has become a worldwide phenomenon.
